Malbi is one of the leading manufacturers of chocolate and confectionery in Ukraine

For over 20 years, Malbi has grown from an innovative factory to a global player with a rich brand portfolio, exporting successfully to more than 30 countries worldwide.

Stage 1 – A Dream That Started It All

The story of Malbi began during university years when a group of young enthusiasts opened their first small workshop producing soft drinks.

The 1990s were a time of severe shortages and hyperinflation. Young entrepreneurs faced numerous challenges, from soaring successes to difficult setbacks.

It was during these years that Malbi’s resilient spirit was forged — a foundation that still drives the company’s growth today.

Stage 2 – Innovation in a Time of Change

In 1997, Malbi installed its first automated PET bottling line — one of the most advanced in Ukraine at the time, with an investment of over two million dollars.

This bold step, seemingly crazy for a young Ukrainian business, paid off by ensuring world-class product quality.

Stage 3 – Expanding Horizons: From Drinks to Chocolate

On the eve of the 1998 economic crisis, Malbi decided to diversify beyond beverages and ventured into the food industry.

This led to the idea of building our own chocolate factory — and true to our principles, only state-of-the-art global equipment was chosen for the project.

Stage 4 – International Partnership

With no well-known brand or wide recognition, entering the chocolate market was a major challenge.

The turning point came with a partnership with Germany’s Stollwerck, granting Malbi the right to produce German chocolate in Dnipro — the first of its kind in Ukraine. Later, Ludwig Chocolate (part of the Krüger Group) also joined the collaboration.

International Cooperation: A Catalyst for Rapid Growth

Like a flywheel set into motion, Malbi’s success story gathered incredible momentum, laying the foundation for irreversible change and a bold entry into the chocolate market.

1999

Entry into the Chocolate Market

A small chocolate factory was established in Dnipro, capable of producing high-quality chocolate for both domestic and international markets.

A professional team was assembled, and unique recipes were developed.

That same year, Malbi launched Ukraine’s first aerated chocolate under the Millennium brand, along with solid nut-filled chocolate bars — proudly making its debut on the world stage.

2002

Launch of the
"MIR" Chocolate Factory

Malbi opened a powerful, state-of-the-art production facility specializing in industrial chocolate and glazes, designed to serve the needs of the confectionery and dairy industries.

2004

New Sweet Creations

Launch of the Millennium chocolate factory and candy production line.
For the first time, the Ukrainian market welcomed sweets like Millennium’s "Ocean Stories" — marbled chocolate sea figurines — as well as Lyubimov chocolate hearts and other confections that remain consumer favorites to this day.

2004 - Malbi now

Following the launch of new production lines and the introduction of unique confectionery products, Malbi confidently secured its position in the national market. The next milestone — expanding far beyond Ukraine’s borders and achieving international recognition.

Export to 30 Countries and Entry into the European Market

For over 20 years, Malbi has been producing goods under the Millennium brand for both Ukrainian and European retail chains.

Cutting-edge equipment and carefully selected raw materials from around the world ensure consistently high quality.

As demand grew and to strengthen its presence in Europe, Malbi made the strategic decision to open international branches.

2014: Millennium branch opened in Warsaw.

2023: Branch established in Vienna.
